Hi,
I have an old IPO 412 release 3.0 and it looks like there is a problem with the flash memory.
Whatever I change in the configuration (a user that needs merge change or a line that needs a reboot, for instance)it looks like it makes a reboot (it loses the ping against the Control Unit) and after it the changes are not made and it only has a default configuration (that I assume it is the one saved in the flash).
So basically I can't do any change because it will never be saved.
So someone knows how to make a new saved configuration in the flash memory? If I erase the flash memory via DTE could I save a new configuration?
Many thanks.

Hi,
thanks for the quick answer. Are you 100% sure?
Do you know if in that model and version can I just replace the control unit and the licenses will work again or the licenses are attached to the hardware?

The licences are associated with a licence dongle, that will be separate from the system and connected to a PC I imagine, the system has a licence server IP address so that's where to look. Putting that config onto another 412 will work as long as it's at the correct version :)

But according with this document ( the dongle key should be attached to the Control Unit, not a License Server, in fact the field Ip Address License Server in System in filled by 255.255.255.255, so as far as I know there is no License Server working. And the Control Unit hasn't any of the dongle keys in that document.
Regards

Yes, you can have a serial dongle attached to the back of the IP412, so do you?

I don't think so, but I will check and come back.
Many thanks

Yes, there is a Rainbow connector (I believe is the second one of the documentation) attached to the PC with the Manager and I think it is the dongle key.
So, that means if I replace the control unit my licences will work with the same licences?

Yes, the licenses are tied to the dongle.

It may be that there just aren't any licenses. VMlite and no features - common in the early days...

What do you mean with no licenses?
Now the default configuration the IPO 412 has is with no licenses, but the problem is that when I added any license it is not saved in the memory so after the restart it comes again with the default config without the license added.

A broken battery will not save some things but not others, besides a merge is writing to non volatile memory, so a battery would have no effect either :)
