Hi all!

I'm trying to connect two ipos via ISDN port directly.

I have experience with IPO, but not on ISDN lines and technology.

What need?

Thanks in advance.

Are you utilizing a point to point T1 or are you connecting a cable yourself between the units?

Cable directly between the units....

thanks.

You need a T1 cross-over cable. PINS 1 and 2 switch with PINS 4 and 5 respectively.

nothing else? resistence in cable, change manager line config?

That's just the physical connection. Yes, you'll need to program the IPO's. Make sure the ISDN lines have unique line numbers, as well as each IPO needs unique dial plans so as not to conflict with each other. You'll need to create short codes in each IPO to route the appropriate calls to the other IPO via the ISDN line group created for that IPO.

I had noticed that I need a resistence 100 omh in the cable.

ok, this is my config now....

IPO (a)

All default exep :

Only change TEI : 127

IPO (b)

All default

Leave TEI : 0

It's ok?

Thanks.

Now you'll need to make each IPO unique as far as the dialplans: extensions/hunt groups/user names should all be unique. You can then create short codes to route the appropriate calls between the systems.

Why, what is the point of connecting them like that??

You need the S0 resistor and an ISDN BRI crosscable.
One side is set as T0 (normal) and one side as S0

BAZINGA!

I'm not insane, my mother had me tested!

as tlpeter says, you can get the So cable from avaya plug this into the ipo set as So Bus. Calls from this ipo to the other ipo ring as incoming call routes, same as normal isdn calls so you need ddi programmed for each extension. calls from ipo with normal isdn trunk to other So IPO can send anything they want as it behaves like an extension going off hook (So extension). works just like a Tie line, trunk 1 side, extension other. only problem is breakout from ipo with normal trunk setting. but depends if you need this or not, there are other options.

Hi all and thanks for the info.

Ok, all is working.
