Hi All,

I am new to this forum, i am seeking some advice with our avaya system.

We are in the process of deploying softphone (3.2) and ONEX for IPO (iphone and Android), giving each user the ability to use either a work provided device or a personal device for working from home.

The problem we are having is that when users enter their mobile number into the ONE-X applicaiton it replicates the number into the coporate directory and makes it visible to everyone. This is not ideal given the fact we are providing this functionality to people who use their own personal phones.

You will see below using my colleague mark

Is there any way of hiding the mobile number displayed here or removing all the numbers entirely , Using the "Ex-Directory" feature would not solve the issue.

I hope this has made sense.

Cheers

I think that you could make shortcodes for each number and enter that instead. That would however mean that you can't change it yourself via one-x only via manager.

Thank you for your response, so you mean add short codes in for each external number so it is effectively masked by the system?

The users here want to use their own personal phones and we dont want the numbers entered into OneX displaying via softphone.

Cheers

Yes, using the shortcode, only people who have access to Manager would be able to see where those shorcodes go to (phone number) so for instance if you set *28 for User A, you would set it up with the Dial and you would use 9 (if you kept the default for accessing outside line) followed by the number. Make sure that the Line Group is the same as your actual phone lines. Then enter that shortcode in for the user instead of their phone number. Now when people use the search function the number would come up as *28
