I have just completed a 3 site SCN install with IPOV2's running 9.1.3 and using all 9608 phones. I had been teaching for ever that to transfer an inbound call to a user you can simply hit Transfer dial the ext and hangup. When I attempted it today it simply hung up the transfer and left the caller on hold. To go a step further it also did not give me the Complete options until either the person answers or their voicemail does.
Anyone know if this is a new "feature" or a bug on this release?

Likely some ports are blocked so the call progress messages didn't make it, but you always need to hear it ring before clearing down/completing the transfer, if you did then it'll be the network as mentioned :)

I just finished a install (9.1.0.3) today with all sorts of 96xx phones mixed (9608, 9611, 9641 and 9651) and all phones can transfer any incoming call with transfer > internal target > drop, external calls always wait for ringtone before Drop.
I also set the Sourcecode "OTT_Transfer" and then a internal transfer is done with pressing BLF > Drop.
External trunks are SIP only.

amriddle: This is definitely not a blocked port issue. I agree that the complete button should appear after the far end begins to ring but it does not appear until either the user answers or the voicemail answers.

intrigrant: Well it doesn't work properly for me...To clarify do you have to hit "Drop" or can you just hangup to finish the transfer. Also you don't mention whether the "complete" button is appearing. I'll try the "OTT_Transfer" to get them by for now.

What I'm looking for is advice on what possible setting that could cause this behavior. Maybe something got turned on that should not have?!?

Enable_OTT (not OTT_Transfer) just emulates two steps with one button. It 'hits' the transfer button and dials the target number programmed on the feature key immediately. The next step to really transfer the call has to be done the same by pressing drop or going on hook. So I think it will make things easier for the end user but will not solve your problem.
