Morning All,
Have a recently installed IPO 8.1.67 with 9608 and 1603 ip phones. I have (2) 9608 phones that are having audio issues when they call each other. User A calls User B, User B cannot hear User A but User A hears User B just fine. It appears to be between these 2 phones only. They can call other extensions without issue. We have replaced both phones, deleted and rebuilt both extensions/users and have the codec set to G711 ULAW for those extensions.

Any thoughts greatly appreciated.
 
Direct media path will not fix it, it will show a bad routing issue but mask it.

I've had all sorts of problems with audio on 8.1.67 using 9621G's that I think is a bad or partial retrieval. Well the retrieval completes and the phone keypad half functions, but no audio channel and no Features or Contacts. Can pickup the phone and call, but cant hear or speak.

The entire office is 1400’s and 9500 Digital sets and I’m the only one with IP Sets at home for after hours support. Currently at home (across VPN) I have 1 x 9650 which is 100% and 2 x 9621G’s that fail depending on User\Port\Features

Not sure if your 9608 issue is similar, but the only temporary fix I’ve found is to create a new port, copy the user and assign it to a new port. From my limited experience with dealing with .67, this newer user may or may not work after a system reboot. But it’s a temp fix for me until Avaya fixes this. (also try deleting all the feature buttons except ABC)

Currently on the 9621G I can login as the original user and get no dialtone, then Mute-CRAFT# logoff (since no feature buttons) an login as Copied user and get dialtone. I can go back and forth all day and reproduce this. After a system reboot, I might have to copy the user again. I mostly use the 9650 now at home, but do miss my 9621G’s color touchscreens - I hope they fix this soon

are these phones in the same network?
are they hanging on the same switch

All three are on same Cisco 200 Series "smart switch" through a 800 Series Router across VPN to a Cisco ASA to another 200 series and Ip500v2

I know, I first thought VPN issue, and from my limited testing the 9621G works at main site when I brought it in for testing, but there are no firewall rules between sites. So must be Gateway, UDP or possible packet fragmentation issue... except that doesn't explain the copy users works remote scenario - All I know is on the remote site I unplug the CAT6 cable from the back of the 9621G and plug in the 9650 and log in as the same user and all is good. Or copy the user on the 9621G and cross my fingers for awhile. I know, bizarre and I might fire up wireshark and look deeper when I get a chance.

Also - I only picked these phones in December and they ran under .43 until I moved to .67, Problem could of been introduced in any of the intermediate versions.

BTW - VTPhoneGuy - Didn't mean to Jack your thread - hope our problems are related and all this info helps both of us

What firmware revision are the 9621 phones on? They should be on 6.2.2.09
 
make sure that the h.323 fixups are disabled in the Cisco
