Hi Guys;

I had a customer ask if it's possible to remove the "beep" that sounds (just before you start speaking) when paging?

Yeah or Nay?

Thanks.

It would certainly have been easy to add a page port to the design of the 500/500V2, it could certainly do with one. But when something is quite easy to do and it's what people want...well that's just the kind of thing Avaya loves not to do for reasons best known to themselves :)

I have no complaints about the page ports on IPO. Drop on a phone 30 module and have 30 page ports if you want. It's really not any different than a Norstar or BCM was, except it comes out on a RJ-45 plug instead of a 1/8" audio jack and a beep. Trunk level paging on an IPO won't beep at all, unless the device you're interfacing with has a preannounce tone configured.

If I had one thing I could add to the IPO hardware wish list, it would be a contact closure that could activate when an extension rings, not just the door opener port that is already there. But, since only 1 out of maybe 20 units I install needs it, I just throw a LDB-2 on the system and twin an analog extension and move along.
