Is it possible to increase the voltage on a telephone line (1fb) temporarily for testing? I ask because I cannot get a 'Vonage' line (off a linksys adaptor) to ring an ATM port on an IP Office but it works fine with my test set.

I have tried decreasing the ring persitency to 50, used ground start and loop start as a test against loop start ICLID. I just wanna see if I increase the ring voltage if the IPO then sees the trunk ring, but if you guys have any other ideas that would be great too. thanks

Sandman has something that may help. I had a site that had to leave their Partner system connected ahead of the IPO to regenerate the ringing, due to being so far away from the CO.

Vonage uses SIP, try to install the SIP line directly instead of using an analog adapter.
OK you need SIP licenses and release 4.x to make it work and Vonage might not be cooperative so you need to do trial and error to make it work but in the end you can take their ATA and box it up and not worrie about it failing or doing other stuff you don't want it to do.
Maybe someone has actually made SIP lines work with Vonage and can get you pointers on how to do the settings.

Disable the ICLID on the line and it should work. I had huge issues with the Vonage ATA and getting the CLI to properly pass to the IPO. You would see ring>drop>ring>drop in Monitor but turning the line to Loop Start (no ICLID) made it work. Also the disconnect clear doesn't seem to work very well and I consistantly had the line hang on me if answered by VM.

I'll look around for the SIP info on the vonage trunk, thanks Westi.

I have tried Loop Start ICLID, Loop Start, Ground Start, adjusting ring persistency, etc with no 'good' results. Also, no VMPro as of yet. But thanks for the info kholladay.

If this is just for testing and your going to go SIP you're better off getting a ~$1/month account from say LES.net or Flowroute.com or something like that. Vonage is a closed system and getting any help out of them is near impossible.
