replacing 9608 with 9608 keep getting waiting for LLDP. I've pressed start after this has continued to be a loop put in code 1234#,also tried hitting ## but goes right back to waiting LLDP. What am I missing. I know there might software upgrades but it's a half hr since I've plugged the replacement in.

Most times a phones says 'waiting for LLDP' there are informations for Fileserver or call server (or both) missing. You should check your DHCP server or review the settings in your phone of set up manually.

in the past I just hit the star key then entered the call server ip address hit # key until phone restarts again. This has worked for me in the past, Is your http server ip address defined on the system tab?

Most likely a DHCP issue with the VLAN settings. The phone cant see the call server.

Resist the temptation to go static IP. Every time you upgrade the IPO you will have to enter the IP addresses all over again.

LLDP means that you do have a switch configured that supports LLDP and has LLDP configured.
If you do not have a switch that can do LLDP than you need to configure DHCP and VLAN's in the network.
