IPO 500 - SIP Trunk - HELP ME :(

Im struggling like hell to get my sip trunks working with gradwell.

I have calls working outbound with 2 way audio.

Ive got our firewall guys to basically route a public IP address to the private one the PBX is on, and unlike previously, i can now see incoming INVITE on making a call in.
Ive also had it at one point today, where by a phone would ring on an incoming call, however, there was no audio, and the mobile i was calling off wasnt aware that the phone had been answered, likewise, the PBX wasnt dropping calls when the mobile hung up


Any ideas?

Hard to give a straight answer.
Check these: ( I think you can skip the first two but better double checked as forgotten )
- Hardware : do you have VCM resources? e.g. a VCM32 or VCM64 card or Combo cards?
- Licenses : do you have valid licenses for SIP trunks?
- Firewall : all incoming traffic from the providers WAN IP Adress must be send to IP Office, there can be different ip addresses for the authentication server and
the media servers, ask your provider
- IP Trunk : depending if you have DDI numbers or not
without DDI numbers : set in the LINE URIs the incoming number as provided, give the line a unique incoming Line ID
Make a Incoming Call Route based on the Incoming Line ID, do not fill in the DDI number and set a valid target ( group or extension )
With DDI numbers: the LINE URIs all have a * as value, You can leave the Incoming Line ID at zero
Make incoming Call Routes for Line ID 0 and use the DDI parameter to route call to the desired destination
For Outgoing CLI fill in the user SIP contact parameters ( if not visible then set the LINE URI contact value to "use user value" )
For outgoing calls use the "Outgoing line ID" to route calls to the SIP trunk, for version 7+ you don't need to add "@providers URI" as it is populated by
IP Office from the line settings. The outgoing CLI is choosen from the LINR URI contact fields, if set to "use user value" then the data from the user is used
if set to * then the value from the Incoming Call Route is used, in this ccase it is important to fill in the DDI value as expected by the provider and not the last
three or four digits. If a user have no DDI assigned the the lowest number of the ICR routing for that line is used.

SIP URI's are setup as mentioned above

Outgoing calls - perfect

However, on an incoming call all i get is the below, but no phones actually ring (although as i said earlier i did half manage to get it working, but doesnt seem to be now!!))
Also, there is no ring back on the phone thats used to call in if that makes sense.

So it looks like im getting INVITE from the SIP provider but the PBX isnt doing anything with it now?

Ok call is coming in now forget the SIP trace, default the filters in monitor and tutn everything off except the system and call tabs, enable shortcodes on the call filter.
Now focus on why it doesn't ring a phone by monitor the messages received.
Once a phone rings and can answer the call but no audio then you're halfway there, the last part is to be found in the firewall

i know nothing about SIP really, but the fact that i keep getting INVITE over and over again and the phone system isnt responding to it, does that mean that its not even getting past the SIP stage?

Okay - So
I just made a change, and i now get something in the trace that you asked for, theres quite a bit.,

The phone also rings now - well my onex portal does for testing purposes!


However, when i answer there is no audio, the mobile isnt aware that ive answered, and the PBX isnt aware if i hang up, and if left long enough i get an unobtainable sound via the phone im calling from.

Thats the IP of my IPO500's WAN1 address, on which there is no internet access... is that why?

Edward, your masking is not that good!

Before you do anything else, I have 4 tasks for you:

1 - Manager> File> Advanced Settings> Security Settings.
Login as security / securitypwd

Change all passwords on the accounts that you are using (security, Administrator, etc) and disable the accounts you don't need .

Save (with the old security user password)

Go back to normal configuration (File> Configuration...)

2 - Enable the built-in firewall on LAN 2 (System> LAN 2> Firewall profile> Internet 01

3 - Remove any 0.0.0.0 routes, put in the routes you need (like the IP of the SIP provider)

4 - Fire that firewall guy of yours, you are wide open on every God damn port, for every IP address in this world! (the get someone to set it up right)

You better be quick about this, the cunts down in Ramallah is sleeping right now, but when they wake up and scan this forum...It's going to be some serious dialling to toll charged numbers.

If you have no idea on how to do this, pull that LAN 2 plug out, and wait for help.

Don't use LAN2 unless you have an SBC or a firewall blocking non-service ports, and only allow service from your provider.
It takes all of a half hour to setup a decent sonicwall to do this.

AACon, the hackers arn't that picky on audio and the line has been working just fine for outbound all the time, only inbound that is mute.
(By the looks of it, there is one trunk for inbound and one for outbound, and the inbound is using G.723...so codec might be wrong on that trunk, try G.711 or G.729)

As for the xx, that's his own editing, but if you look at the initial post:

It's NATed, so there is some sort of equipment in front of the LAN2, but it's not doing any good.

Ok, Edward, you're more intrested in getting the trunk working than securing it.
Fine.

You don't need to have 2 trunks, 1 trunk with 2 SIP URI's is more than enough.
But ainthink you should try to check out that Codec setting.

Did you get any tech info from the provider?

Hah I know Gunnaro...I was just kidding
I was confused why he had 2 sip trunks too...but looking at the config, it may be for some other purpose as the ARS/ICR's don't do anything with it, if i remember correctly.
It just may be a poor setup all around.

Edward, do you have a business partner to work with? Typically they will have a resources to help you. Hell it may end up being one of us! (hah!)
