IP500V2 Replacement 1

We have an Avaya IP500V2 completely dead with no light.

If we replace the IP500V2 controller, insert our original module, SD-Card from the old system and import our latest Config,

Is this should work...?

Hi,

Yes I know the new Unit doesn't come with an SD-Card.

I should receive soon a complete an brand new controler.

so I have two option:

Just remove de Power supply from the new device and install it in the defective unit.
in this situation I have no question.

or

I can use the brand new unit, install all our existing original module and SD-Card from defective unit to the new units.


that is why I ask question about the correct step to make it work.

Putting the original SD card into the new system will put the system on R8.1 after it comes up. It should bootup onto the old config and be good to go. Just make sure you put the cards back into the same slots they were taken out of so you don't have to clean up a mess.

I am literally on-site now moving an R7.0 IPO to their new location. It did not come back up. I just replaced the power supply and all is good. Thankfully my office was not far to grab it.

Peterbob9: I shut down a working IPO at the old location, plugged it in at the new location...nothing. No lights, no smoke, no fire.

Swapped out the power supply, plugged it back in and everything was back to normal.

that is exactly what we are experiencing, after a power failure the system didn't come back online.

a joke, it probably have a limit date set in the power supply.

Yes I've had a power supply on a V1 after a power cut but I thought V2 was better.

V2 power supplies are better then V1 but they do still fail just not nearly at as high a rate.
