That will work. You may consider upgrading the SD card as the new chassis won't be locked at what ever version the old one was, it will be licensed as 11.

If you have an R8.1 I would get a copy of the config off the card (config.cfg in the primary folder). It should already have an essential license unless you got a virtual one during a previous. If that is the case you would need to buy one. Recreate the SD to R11. Boot the system. Make a call. This will license the chassis to R11.
If you boot up with R8.1 and make a call the chassis will be locked to 8.1 and you would need an upgrade license if you ever wanted to upgrade it later.
@ipohead It will load what ever operational software is on the SD.

I don't believe the essential license is version based. It would only need the upgrade license if the chassis was locked to a lower level. A fresh chassis would be at R11 by default.

1x Additional Voicemail Pro Ports
2x Avaya IP endpoints
2x IP500 Universal PRI (Additional channels)
1x IP500 Voice Networking Channels
1x Preferred Edition (Voicemail Pro)
1x Essential Edition
Is all these licenses are in the config.cfg in the primary folder, (I had personally add the two IP endpoints licenses using manager, all other was already there.)
In that situation "If you boot up with R8.1 and make a call the chassis will be locked to 8.1 and you would need an upgrade license if you ever wanted to upgrade it later."
Is all these licenses functionality will still works..?
Sorry but this won't work because R8.1 is ADI licensing and R11 is PLDS. You would need to migrate to R11 to be able to run R11 (or even R10). You could upgrade as high as R9.1.12 and use that existing licensing but anything R10 or R11 will take a migration. If you get locked into an earlier release, but eventually migrate to R11, you will still be able to run R11 without an upgrade license because PLDS essential edition licenses have a version tied to them you are entitled to run.
The truth is just an excuse for lack of imagination.
1. I am replacing with new unit. so that means the new unit has never run any release and when I will put the SD card in then control unit will get release (8.1) and configuration from SD card.
Is this will work.?
2. if it work, I will be stuck on that version and need an upgrade licenses if I want to upgrade.
To me this is a bit of a grey area. They aren't actually 'upgrading' the system. They are just loading an older config to a new chassis. I haven't tried this method but I do have systems at R9.1 with mixed ADI and PLDS licensing that run with out a problem.

Or
Because is a brand new unit and has never run any release, I have to boot it on the first time on full software version on SD-CARD, then shutdown and boot it with my original SD-Card.
