i need to do some call barring to stop people calling outsode numbers and to stop users calling users (its what the customer wants!!)


do i do that is user rights or ars.... and is there any examples on the web i can look at...


 
To stop outside calls just tick Outgoing Call Bar in the user tab.

Stopping being able to call other users could be tricky!!!

Try a user short code

SC: XXX (extn number that user shouldn't be able to call)
Feature: Busy
LG: 0

It might work but I think it checks to dialled number against user and group numbers before checking short codes. This is true for system SC's might be for User SC's but not sure.

Unless the internal extn's are in nice number blocks, this will be alot of programming!!!

You are not meant to be able to barr extension to extension dialing, but on 4.0.5 you can make a single digit shortcode that works. Havnt tried on 4.0.7 yet.
For example if your extns are 2XX the shortcode is
SC:2
Tele:.(or blank)
Feat:Busy
You may want to reduce your Dial Delay Time or Count to speed up the busy signal.
Obviously that bans dialing to anyone internally with extn 2XX
 
i will give it a go... salesmen there a nightmare....



 
so the salesmen are not allowed to call each other and customers ?

To stop people calling each other internally you can turn DND on. If you want certain people to be able to get through this add them in as dnd exceptions.

Delete the dnd shortcode so the users cannot change the dnd status also.

Set up User Rights with DND and deleted the "turn DND off"

If you use DND the users will not be able to accept calls in on DDI's or groups.

As long as these are outgoing only phones then this will be fine.
