Just something I have never come across before, Customer is installing an IP Office V2 with 8 Analog trunks and IP Phones. I know this will work and there are issues with echo on lines but they are set on the 1600 style of phones and dont want to put in reg digital phones.

Question is to hook up these IP phones to the system rather then the Digital phones what hardware is needed or am I just plugging IP phones into their switch on the same network as the IPOffice and allowing their DCHP server to assign IPs to the IP Sets? I thought there would be a Digital Station 8 (or comparison) to plug these phones into on the system but didnt see it in any parts lists I currently have. Any insight would be helpful. Thank

Thank You

Justin

One more quick question just came across. If they are using analog lines do they still need the VCM and IP Endpoint Licenses?

Thank You

More info on the version and the type of VCM card.

Upgrade to 7.0.23 (If you still decide to go digital run the patch)
There where some problems with Combo ATM card, but it depend on the hardware version of the card.

Justin this is what training is for, we can't teach you how ip phones work and how to implement them on the system using this forum, it would take too long and it's not what it is for either :)

Sorry Amr,

Suppliers take too long to get back to me was hoping for a quick answer here. I have installed over 75 IPOffices through out the region just not run into situation like this.. I dont want to know how it works I can figure that out, Just wanted to know the HW needed weather it be a switch attached to IPOffice or to use their switch to connect phones :)

Justin, When there is TDM (analog or ISDN) and IP then you will always need VCM channels.
But whith 6.0 VCM channel licenses disappeared and the IP end point licenses for Avaya IP phone came in place.

BAZINGA!

I'm not insane, my mother had me tested!
