IP500 PCS 08 Rel 4.2.11 5410 squeal on 16 port Digital expansion modul

The phone will be working fine and then gets a call and the person on the other end can here you, but all you hear on the 5410 phone is a high pitch squeal. Resetting the IP500 and the phone will not clear the problem. Changed the phone with a good one and still have the problem. Now the high pitch squeal is still on the phone when going off hook to make a call.
I had to change the port.

The funny thing about this is that i have another site that has the same problem except that the problem jumps around to 2 or 3 phones, but not at the same time???????????????

Dialling *00 (and other digits) will clear the squeel, it's ak nown issue that upgrading is supposed to fix, but you still get the odd occurence on some sites just not very often, make sure you step through 3.2.999 on the upgrade too

i tried that before leaving the site and that worked.
I already have the system at 4.2.11 and i dont know if it had been taken to 3.2.999 or not. I was going to upgrade to 5.0 then 6.0 then 7.0???

6.0 is licensed and 7.0 is in trial.
You can upgrade for free to 5.0.24
