FYI

This is a new one... Just installed a new IP500 unit with DS8 modules in slot 1 and slot 2. Slot 1 has a ATM 4U with it and a VCM 32 in slot 4. Had 3 5400 sets connected to Slot 1 DS8. Displays looked okay. Trunk calls were being answered by AA fine and everything. When calls came in live thoug and answered by any of these 3 sets, outside caller would hear a high pitched tone. User at a 5400 couldn't hear anything. Tried a different DS8 with a different ATM4U on it...Same thing - no audio on the 3 5400 sets. Changed the IP500 base...same thing.

Slot 2 DS 8, pulled it out, everthing fine. Never have seen a bad DS8 cause this problem.

Just wanted to let you all know.

Thanks,

Did you try to swap between DS8s? Maybe it is the slot, maybe it is a faulty module?

Help me to help you! Helping each other makes us stronger, smarter!

As I said, it was a bad DS8 module causing the problem in both DS8 modules.

I have had two Phone 8 cards drag the entire system down, replacing them fixed it, but they work fine in another 500, put them back in the original 500 and down it goes :)
