I have a customer who has had a new IP500 installed and have a hunt group setup with 16 5420 handsets. On the spare keys they have been used for key and lamp with other ext on the system. Not all the time but between 10 and 15 time a day when a call is made into the group one person answers the call but the other 15 phones keep ringing. When they pick the phone up there is no call just dial tone when they put the phone down it will ring again. The olny way they can clear this is by unpluging the phone then putting it back in and it will stop the phone ringing. I have spoken to Avaya on this but they can not find anything in the traces i have sent then, or get the same fault in there lab.

Do they have "automatic callback" activated on the buttons?

No they dont have this programed on the keys. I will digout the trace

I have said this to a few people with similiar issues with 4.2, Any time you have 5420's in huntgroups you can get allsorts of funny problems with them ringing, this is the third or fourth odd ringing issue on top of mine I've seen with 5420's in groups on 4.2. In my case a sequential group would ring the first handset and at the same time ring the second very quietly even though it was sequential. Again Avaya said they couldn't see anything in the traces, but it's becoming a recurring issue so I think they are burying their head in the sand with it.

Noooooooooooo
Avaya would NEVER do that :)

I have not seen this issue but most customers don't invest in 5420's due to the money spent.
but it is good to keep that in mind thanks amriddle01
