We have a cust that company would like to upgrade to 9.0 on XP windows from 4.1 to 9.0
side note cust has never had any issues . System could not be upgraded it failed
before proceeding it gave a message that pre 5.0 needs runtime license is this true ,never heard of that
We have upgrade several before 9.0 never had an issue. upgrade license was purchased
any thoughts (could it be that ip500 doesnt have enought mem) its a reg ip500 around 2008

If Memory serve Me right You have to delete pre R4.2 config on IP500, upgrade it to R6, then R8, then R9

That Standard to professional license You have highlighted in the file was only used in R4 on the IP500
You can upgrade to R5 without an upgrade license.

Licensing changed after R6, and can be costly, especially if You have many IP Phones.
You need Upgrade license 7 on the feature key card to go to R9

If Customer has no issues, why upgrade the IPO?

I'd buy a new 500v2 chassis and wait for the R9.1.

Kind regards

Gunnar

When upgrading to 9.0 consider this:
- Buy a full essential license
- one license per Avaya IP Phone
- PRI channels are license above 8 channels per PRI
- VM Pro has limited functionality - no database access, no text to speech
- No Conference meet me
- No PhoneManager
- No Conference Suite

When upgrading to 9.1 consider this on top of the 9.0 limitations:
- No support for IP400 hardware
- No Windows XP support

Both have a lot new to offer though.

This is not to disencourage you from upgrading but you will have to explain in detail to the customer what can and what connot be used compared with the existing situation.
If you don't you may loose a customer and maybe money too after the upgrade.

Sorry they did get a upgrade license ,it failed 3 x tried to go to 5.0 and failed then tried 6.0 same issue , BP wants her to upgrade ,as noted she never had issues prior , justification is that she has an old windows XP

Material Description Sales Order Quantity LicenceKey Description

these are the license that were purchased ,Just cant figure why it failed . I removed manager from xp PC
loaded 8.0 which is the step that you can go up to
it stated for 5.0 you need run time license hit ok proceeded to upgrade then Failed
removed 8.0 loaded 5.0 same issue
then tried 6.0 same issue could it be the 500

Who knows, people pretend to know what they are doing all the time, it hard to tell the difference :)
