This may be in relation to this post.....

However I am bring forth the question differently I think. Voicemail is on Full AA and nothing fancy. Using the time profile and creating 3 groups (day, afternoon, night) and the appropriate times (not over lapping).

The day works, the afternoon works, but the night does not play (*813) and the VM results by playing ONLY the Menu Options (*814).

I tried EVERYTHING and not matter what I did the night when flagged or the time being changed to allow the proper call sequence to take place, it did not work.

Am I the only one experiencing this? Or am I not handling the time profile properly? OR should I just wait till 4.1 is out in a month or so?

Are you absolutly sure you have the time profiles correct? My guess is you don't You have to look at time profiles as sort of a negative image of what you want. Post them here if you're not sure.

ronromano and tlpeter looked at my configs for this one and resolved it. Whilst I understand the workings of the modifications made to the config. I think its such an ars* way of having to do it.

Provider, I couldn't agree more. Not having a true Hight button or something like it is a deficiency on IPO. The way I did ii for you is a joke, but like you said, but it works.

I am working on this with R6Wraith600..

The Time profiles we created were;

Monday to Friday 8:00AM to 12:00PM (Morning)
Monday to Friday 12:00PM to 4:30PM (Afternoon)
Monday to Friday 4:30PM to 8:00AM (Night)

We were just addressing the weekdays right now but another question would be what about weekends when they are closed. We can create a Time Profile for that but where would the greeting be recorded and how would it play?

Thank you

-JustinTMI

You dont need a gap between the profiles for the following reason.........

Time Profile
The time profile that defines each period of auto-attendant operation. When there are overlaps or gaps between time profiles, precedence is given in the order morning, afternoon and then evening.

In order to get the weekend thing you would have to put a time profile on the incoming call route and intercept it there before it even gets to the AA. Point that to a short code that accesses another AA or an empty hunt group with vm on or something.

On 4.1 you can define time profiles like you can define conditions in VM pro, calendar etc. Nice.

Order in which direct the former or the latter? The way it is written above it could mean that afternoon gets preference over evening.

i also give it a gap of one minute
the ipoffice does not like duplicated extensions, names etcetc
so i asume it also does not like duplicated times :)

Tried this with Gaps of 1 minute as well and still get the same result. If I record my night greeting in *813 and setup the AA to play Night on 811 812 and 813 it still doesnt play the night greeting, it will goto 814.

To test something I setup a time profile from 12:00AM to 11:59PM Sunday - Saturday. In the AA Set all time profiles to Night (which is 813) and it still didnt play the 813 greeting it played the 814?

Thank you for the advise on the weekend. I will try that, but issue with times during the week and greetings to play still not resolved! It will not play the night greeting!

If there is an overlap between morning and afternoon, morning gets precedence.

If there is an overlap between afternoon and evening, afternoon will get precedence.

12:00AM to 11:59PM I dont see an overlap there? Am I wrong in saying this? or am I misunderstanding something?

-Justin

It will always play the 814 greeting.

The 814 greeting is the main body of the AA message.

The morning afternoon and evening greetings are merely to say good morning, good afternoon etc before it plays 814 press 1 for this 2 for that.

If you create a morning profile and assign it and record "good morning" in that shortcode, when that profile is active it will play good morning and then play whatever is recorded under *814 which should be press 1 for this etc.

All the morning afternoon and evening things are for is to custmise your AA so it says good morning and good afternoon etc at different times of the day.

I understand that.. But what ever i try it will not say Good Evening.. Thats my issue..

Justin,
Change your time profiles to look like this:

Time Profile Time Entry List
OpenAM M-F 8:00AM to 11:59AM

OpenPM M-F 12:00PM to 4:29PM

Closed M-F 12:00AM to 7:59AM
M-F 4:30PM to 11:59PM
Saturday & Sunday 12:00AM to 11:59PM

Tell your new AA to play OpenAM for Morning, OpenPM for Afternoon, and Closed for Evening

If it still doesn't work then create an all new attendant with the same time profiles associated. It will create new shortcodes and see if it follows suit or still has issues.
After you do that, of course record the new greetings.
