Hi all

Putting in a remote IP phone over a VPN. Do I program the gateway address in Router Option in the IP phone?

The reason I ask is because the manual states
"7. Router= is displayed. This is the address of the phone's default gateway. To accept the current
value, press # or enter a value and then press #.
? For IP Office operation, this is the IP address"

...use IP office address?

I assume this is only when localally connected to use IP office address but remotely use the router as gateway? I would have just tried it myself but I am sending this phone out to a customer and want it preprogrammed, thanks ...

If the phone is local to the IPO the route address is the IPO.

If the phone is going on a remote subnet the router address is the router local to the handset.

As above, the router is routing to your ip office so you use this as the gateway address to your IP office.
You would give your handset a local IP Address which the router can translate.

Obviously your call server/TFTP point to the IP Office address.
