Our company moved into a new location after the 7.1 earthquake destroyed our old building here in Alaska, We brought over our Avaya IP Office 500V2 (10.0.0.3.0 build 5), the business before us used a patch panel for the phone lines to all the offices, with that they had a BOGEN TAM B and a Pagepac 6 with a trunk adapter and about 7 or 10 ceiling speakers all left behind for us, im not sure if they used the bogen and pagepac6 both together or what, I have converted all the necessary patch panel phone lines to the Avaya, I'v read here and there that it is possible to use the over head speakers with the Avaya, I'm no expert but have self taught myself quite a bit with the Avaya in the past 5 years, so if its possible to use this is the bogen all I need or the pagepac6 or both?

The Bogen TAM-B connects to a spare line (not extension) port on the IP Office, AND to the Pagepac 6. It provides talk battery to the phone system, and couples your voice into the input of the amplifer.

You pick the line you want to connect to the TAB-B, and in the IP Office change the Incoming and Outgoing Line Group ID's, something unique from all of the other lines. Lets say you pick Line 8, and you make the Incoming and Outgoing Line Groups each 8. Make sure the Admin status is set to "In Service", go to the Analogue Options tab and change the "Await Dial Tone" setting from 3000 to 100

Now create a System Short Code. Maybe *88
Code: *88
Feature: Dial
Telephone Number: {Leave Blank}
Line Group ID: 8

Connect the Tip and Ring from the line port on the IP Office to the Phone System T and R terminals on the TAM-B
Set Mode switches S1 and S2 (on front of unit) to to OFF
Set Mode switches S3 and S4 to ON
Set Aux Switch S4 (on top of unit) to ON
You need the power supply connected to power supply terminals
The Paging Output PT and PR go to the input of the Pagepac

Now on the phones, you dial *88, you are connected to the paging system, and page away

this might sound like a stupid question but.......the TAM-B needs a 24v power supply? Because I only see a 12v power supply for the Pagepac and not the BOGEN, it's possible the previous tenants somehow packed it with their stuff.

It is possible that the previous tenant was using a RINGING single line station port for interface, or a Centrex telephone line, in which case the TAB-B is line powered.

You really don't want to use it in that manner if you can avoid it, BUT, follow the manual to connect and set the switches for Station Port/Centrex connections, starting on Page 7. Set your IP Office port as IVR so that it sends a positive disconnect signal when the page ends, and you don't get dial tone over the speakers for a minute after paging.

I found this on a shelf near the bogen, could this be the power supply? A switch on the back is set at 24v
