Just Got a New Avaya ip office with v R8 When i upgrade to 8.1(43) the phones come up with no licence.
Mode: set to IP OFFICE

is this because you need to purchase licences on that Version ???
anyone ????

You need an essential edition license.

BAZINGA!

I'm not insane, my mother had me tested!

THANKS FOR CONFIRMING MY THOUGHTS. so if i decide to upgrade an excisting system from V7 TO V8.1(43) I will need to have an essential licence for the phones to work unless ofcourse i change the mode to Basic

thanks

I am sorry, you say upgrade.
When you upgrade you will need an upgrade license
When it is a new system then yuo will need an essential edition license.
But at the moment there is a little trick.

When it is brand new then downgrade it to 7.0 (does not matter which one)
Make an external call (can be without actual trunks)
Then upgrade it to 8.x

When you upgrade then you must see 255 under "licensed"

Then downgrade to 7.0 and make some external calls (you will get "waiting for line"
When that is done then you can upgrade it for free.
Try it and you will see it.

It should work, i did it yesterday.
Did you go from 7.0 to 8.0 or 8.1?

Try from 7.0 to 8.0 first.
When that works then go to 8.1
If that does not work then order an upgrade license.
