Customer had a PARTNER system installed with an 120W amplifier as well as self amp'd speakers. They use a Digital Voice Announcer to make scheduled announcements and use the phone to PAGE. We removed the partner, built a paging port with 600Ohm resistor in line - hard repowered and but the appropiate short code and paging group. They also play background music thru the speakers.

Now with the IPO we have very very low volume on pages thru the handsets. the DVA volume sounds great; the music sounds the same; the pages thru the VALCOM Self amp'd speakers sound ok - less volume but you can hear it. there is almost NO volume on the paging thru the amp - we changed inputs on the amp and cranked up the input volume and it doesnt change.

We tried as CO Port; an Analog Port; A Paging Port; an IVR Port with UPAM; with a Resistor; with nothing and when we do get audio - its too soft to be heard.

Feel likes its something very simple.... but i have been staring at this too long....

thoughts? already tried some of the threads here but same results - low audio....

I ran into an issue similar to this about 3 months ago. Turned out the amplifier was not compatible with the speakers. I would check the amplifier model and find one of the speaker models and make sure they work together. A quick call to the manufacturer could save a lot of time troubleshooting if they are not compatible.

thanks for the reply - but .....

the speakers sounded fine last night with the PARTNER system in place; the DVA sounds fine when it plays; so if the speakers were mis-matched - those shouldnt work either

RESOLVED - add the IN LINE CONDITIONER - sounds better than ever

fedphone,

We are currently having the same issue with a pretty similar setup. What is an "IN LINE CONDITIONER"? Do you have a Part Number or a Manufacturer that you used? Thanks!
