I've just switched companies and now am in charge of selecting a replacement phone system. The company I came from is using an IP Office 406v2 (120 users, 2 offices). It sufficed, but there were always some residual issues. Reading these forums has shown me that they were mostly known Avaya bugs, and seem to get fixed eventually.

My new office has 3 sites: Headquarters with 75 handsets, and 2 remote offices with 35 handsets each. We expect very little growth, and would certainly never hit beyond 150 in total.

A vendor aready showed them the Avaya CM and didnt even mention IP Office. Not sure why... We want to get some decent reporting and real-time stats like # of calls waiting in queue, and average answer time, etc.. I've never used CCC or anything before, so I don't know how well it works yet. Other than scalability and redundancy, is there any reason to NOT use IP Office in a scenario like this? I thought the IP Office system I worked with before was good.. or maybe I just got used to certain things.. hard to tell.

I think IPO would be fine for your size of implementation. The issues you read about here are a combination of things...the bugs that get resolved in maintenance releases and some just plain shoddy implementations. IP Office is deceivingly simple in appearance, what with the easy to follow GUI management software. The problem is that you still have to know what you're doing with it or you can really hose things up.
Be sure to find a really good Avaya Business Partner who can show you a track record of successful implemetations of your size and requirements.

The ipoffice is good but the CM is also good
For you it is better to choose for the ipoffice, you know the system
Now you can log in on other sites and put groups from other sites in the overflow or put users in groups on other sites

I would go for the ipo but if your company growns to the 350 or 400 users quikc then i would go for the CM

Thanks for your advice!! Yes, I do know much of the IP Office system manager, which will make it easier to maintain for simple things.

Is there a major difference between the reporting (real-time stats, etc.) between IPO and CM? I know they liked that capability with the demo of the CM, and I was hoping there would be similar features and reports with IPO ( ccc or whatever is the program to use)

Here you can find all your info

Go to CCC and compare :)

how soon are they looking to make a decision? the new SBCC is supposed to be going beta the begining of September, launching i think in January of 09. So if they are getting a budget number, the SBCC looks a lot better than CCC, a lot easier to install and a lot more user friendly. we can say good by to the 2 hour trainings on CCV.

Excellent, I've heard that as well. I am sure we can get the switch in and wait a few months for SBCC the reporting. I am assuming that SBCC is replacing CCC?

No it does not replace it yet

CCC is sometime way too expensive for some cutomers
SBCC is for the smaller businesses
Hopefully there will also be the support for the CIE wich the CM uses
There are developing it but it can take a while (hopefully 5.0 next year)

i guess technically it doesnt replace it, but when it comes out, if it is as good as i have seen and as easy to use... we wont sell anymore CCC, we will just sell SBCC, so in that case, it would be replacing it.

Where are you located and where is this installation? Is it in the US?

I just checked the specs on both CCC and SBCC...Multiple servers for a multi-site operation. I was hoping it was a single server.

CM with LSP and the 96xx serie is way better but costs more. Its one platform so only management on one system. And you can have agents on al side,s and skill based routing more stable etc etc. So if your company want to invest in the ACM then take the change.

IPO is realy on second place.
Don,t saying i don,t like the IPO.
Do it for 14 years now.
Did 100+ IPO and 50+ ACM installs.

But if his company say,s he may buy an
ACM with al features like EAS and CMS/IQ.

ACM programming is as easy as IPO you just need a good Vendor for ACM or IPO.

So in my opinion its just a question of money or there must be a special feature wy you need IPO but can,t think of one in your case.
