We have now tried to get the tftp server to work through the voicemail server on 4 seperate 2008 R2 servers. When we point to the R2 server it just flat out doesnt work. we have completely disabled the firewall. The minute we put a copy of Manager on a different 2008 standard or below server it works perfectly. We are at a loss. We have may Small Business Server installs where we cant use the functionality.

Perhaps find the forum that deals with those servers and they will probably be of more help than us on the IPO forum, it seems to have little to do with the system other than TFTP happens to be involoved :)

opps the 69 entry is in yellow and now barely visible. sorry

OK This is embarassing.
On the back of the two netstats just went back into manager.
There is a tick mark to Enable BootP and TFTP servers. It was unchecked. I have never had to check this box before.
In any case of course not it is working perfectly.
Thanks for everyones help

I think your initial post gave people the impresssion you weren't using Manager to do the TFTP or that would have been their fist suggestion/question :)

BTW, SBS servers can be troublesome (so not supported) with VM pro unless you stop the server stealing the VM data ports with a registry entry, also SBS servers don't like the BOOTP server in Manager and thinks it's a DHCP server and shut their own DHCP server down, you need a registy entry to fix that too :)

Set the tftp sever IP address the same as LAN 1.
Then set it to embedded.
There is no need at all to use a server 2008 for this while the ipoffice can do it itself.

BAZINGA!

I'm not insane, my mother had me tested!
