Hi everybody,

I 've the following problem, with teo IP Ofiice's configure in SCN.

My H.323 trunks are working properly, i ve tested this through status manager.

When i am calling an extension in the othe IPO am getting the following error"Incompatible disc"

Avaya says it is a routing problem but all my ip connectivity seems to be working fine.

Any ideas ?

Thanks

Have you checked all ports needed for SCN to work?

Kind regards

Gunnar

Do you mean the voice ports ?

i beleive this must not be an issue becaise i ve disabled the firewall in both sites,

Anyway i will ckeck this too

You run this open on the internet? Madness!

Get VPN!

Kind regards

Gunnar

This IS an issue with the SCN not being fully up, this is 99% of the time due to the routers.
When an SCN is not fully up you can ping back/forth etc but the systems will not be able to see each others extns/groups, when they can't see the other extns then they treat calls to those numbers as a normal call and use system shortcodes to route it out your landlines, hence why you get the incompatible disc message on the phone. :)

To Gunnaro,

Of course i am using a VPN but for testing pursposes i 've disabled the firewall to verify any blocking issues.

I am able to ping back/forth from one IPO to another.

I ve also add short codes to route calls to the other IPO through the IP trunk but still getting the Incompatible disc error.

Ok, what kind of Firewalls do you have?
There could be a H323 inspection messing things up for you (typical Sonicwall or Checkpoint)

Kind regards

Gunnar

You are very vague about your setup and also seem unwilling to accept that you do have a routing issue with the H323 trunks. This is not a call routing issue. It IS as Avaya says your routing/network between the devices at fault, we can't tell you what as we don't know how it's all connected and even if we did finding what it is is quite an involved process.

Also FYI shortcodes are not required for SCN and will in fact be ignored once the SCN is actually working anyway :)

ping is working from one IPO to the other, also i can ping the gateway too, that is not a problem

I will ckeck for opoen ports and i 'll let you know.

We know, we are telling you to forget about ping as it doesn't prove much at all :)

i run a port scan in my pc where the anager is installed and all the required ports are open

can i do something similar directly from the ip office ?

What devices are you using to create the VPN connection? if you tell us that we can tell you what to disable.

Am i missing something ?

for the VPN i am using 2 Drayek 2860 router with IPsec for the VPN.

Am i missing something ?

Yes, what equipment is on the gateway addresses for the IP routes? What make are the routers?

It's the routers linking the 2 sites together than are causing the issues, just telling us their IP addresses doesn't help :)
