Have been working on a new IPO 500 system for the past week. If anyone can help out I would appreciate it!
(I know a VPN will probably fix this but that is not possible right this moment. I need an alternative, plus the 9600 phones and IPO 8.0 are supposed to support non-vpn remote extensions)
Scenario:
Main office has IPO 500 with numerous 9650C phones on private voice subnet (LAN1) and connected IPO to internet on LAN2 interface with public IP, wide open internet.
Branch office has roughly 5 9650C's behind a Sonicwall TZ200. Also has one SIP phone but I wont even expect to get this working behind NAT.
So far, I've gotten the phones to connect to the call server, and usually they can make calls and receive them. However it is extremely sporadic. For example, one moment both phones can make calls at the same time, then after hanging up one might work and the other may have no audio, then five minutes later it will be opposite, and then a few minutes later both might work again, and then both might even stop working.
In the Sonicwall at the branch office I've tried playing with the VoIP features, I have consistent NAT turned on and it still does this. Ive also tried all VoIP features (Including SIP transformations and H.232 transformations on/off). Nothing fixes this.
I am extremely frustrated because when we purchased this phone system I was basically told that the new remote extensions feature would allow these 9600 series phones to connect to the IPOffice WITHOUT needing a VPN. This has been nearly impossible to get working reliably.
In a nutshell: I need to know how to config MULTIPLE 9600 series phones as remote extensions in the same remote office behind a single SonicWall, with the IPO on a public WAN IP at the main office.
