Hi Avaya engineers, for next release 12, could you add in your user rights

Multi-Line options
-Reserve Last CA
-Attention ring

Would be nice!

... AND if and when you do add these features please don't break other features that have been working fine for years!!!

+ add Pickup buttons for Workplace (just like Aura )
+ add feature buttons

+ add support for Postgresql 14 and 16 for VMPro

+ for the AD user sync: add the following fields to be automatically filled in during sync:
- User Password
- Unique identity field (this field now still has to be input manually which kind of renders the whole AD sync useless when you want to use the SSO / AvayaCloud )
- External phone number (on the incoming call routes)
- User CLI (for filling in the SIP fields of user profile, a required item if you want to dial out using SIP)
- Voicemail settings

here is a big one that makes the installation faster

for remote phones and apps add a cloud address that the system gets automatically assigned from an Avaya server and a connection from that cloud server so that we don't have to dick around with firewalls, firewall settings, SBC's and all of that like some other brands offer.
THAT would definitely sell even if you charge a SMALL yearly fee for it. By small I mean not more than $50/year for up to 10 users and then go up if you have more users using it.

Add a name or description field to the Short Codes for information only. To see what those custom built codes are supposed to do without drilling down into them.

+ get an option to remove the button: 'Join Workplace Meeting' (since nobody uses it ...)
but keep the Spaces button :)

Improve documuments, add complete and correct infos whenever a new release is delivered, improve sw quality and support would be enough, IMHO

Whilst not directly connected to Rls 12 wish list ,additional videos at Avaya IP Office Knowledge Base,
particularly ACCS Avaya Contact Center Select and Media Manager focusing on deployment and setup are welcomed.

I would like V12 to be able tested before releasing and for it to work! and try to be as bug-free as possible.

Impossible. I work for a software company and you cannot set a date for a release, you can give an estimate but that is it.
You never know where you run into. Very dangerous to set a date and just release.

Or do you mean something else?

BAZINGA!

I'm not insane, my mother had me tested!

I mean something different @tlpeter, I am talking about a complete ad updated description both on what's new (if) in the release, how does it work, what the file included in the download page are made for, detailed documentation as in the past.

@tlpeter
they told the release date for R4.0 then R6.0 and R9.0 to the day :)
That's why they were a nightmare

I guess they try to make things work and if they have trouble they simply disable the feature rather than fix it right away and then release it in a Feature Pack later.
That means also that they cannot release documentation until it actually is released and working.

I see their troubles they have with that but I also see the headaches all the techs have if they have to spend time (each one of the thousands of techs) to figure out how things work and see the frustration of customers when we tell them how a feature works and it then is actually different.

Once upon a time the field trials which included dozens and dozens of partners (much more) worldwide, at those time I was in and remember the continuos testing and checks both on the new feautres and in the docs, that job was well organized by the NPI team, now they decided this is a useless waste of time and throw up as GA releases which are untested as necessary, we all pay the bill (but Avaya as well in terms of sales) as mentioned by @Westi

I remember those trials as well. They were a lot of work but also a lot of fun and found problems in real live scenarios that could be fixed before the initial release.

Avaya found out that they don't have to do that and rather have customers and techs alike that are unprepared for problems do all the testing and then take their time fixing them because those techs have to go through the slow agonizing process of opening a ticket rather than having fast access and not a huge queue of issues.

Ahhh the good old times

Do we have any idea when 12 will come out?

I've heard nothing!!

I worked for a distributor and we were doing field trial testing for every release, not only the major releases.
That was the first that disappeared, unfortunately.

BAZINGA!

Me too @tlpeter in a distributor, those field trials were a way to create a community and to make the IPO hardened, now they expressely decided not to do that, if you find a bug raise a ticket but sign a IPOSS contract before, then pray they will face and solve the issue faster than 3/4 months. "Ahhh the good old times" as @Westy has said
