Can IP Office R8.0 network with Avaya Aura via Session Manager?

No you need to setup the ip office as a CM gateway

If it ain't dutch it ain't much

Intrigrant;are you referencing the Avaya B5800 as the CM gateway?

Yes he is.
Although i have read somewhere that you can set this up again in 8.0 but i do not see the option.

what are you trying to do? I have a 8.0 system with h323 trunk to CM. i am not trying to use the CM for VM or anything like that. just 4 digit dial and outgoing calls

First, thanks for your answers.

We are implementing a design in which the IP Office to communicate with other servers via the Session Manager. Previously, IP Office R7.0 could directly communicate with the Session Manager via SIP trunks, but a trainer told us that the R8.0 will not connect to session manager and it will use the B5800 like CM Gateway.

Just to confirm: We can connect directly to the Session Manager or need to B5800 as Gateway?

Thanks for your time.

I understand that Avaya decided to retain IPO rel 8 SIP trunking feature with Aura besides converting IPO into B5800 CM gateway.

You cannot create a SES line from release 8, it will not be available in future releases as there is the B5800 gateway software. When the B5800 has a connection with the CM server it acts as any other gateway but when the connection is gone it act somewhat like a IPO.

If it ain't dutch it ain't much

You can connect it with a SES line on 7.0
The B5800 is still running 6.1 so you could do this if you like.
