We are implementing a design in which the IP Office to communicate with other servers via the Session Manager. Previously, IP Office R7.0 could directly communicate with the Session Manager via SIP trunks, but a trainer told us that the R8.0 will not connect to session manager and it will use the B5800 like CM Gateway.
Just to confirm: We can connect directly to the Session Manager or need to B5800 as Gateway?
You cannot create a SES line from release 8, it will not be available in future releases as there is the B5800 gateway software. When the B5800 has a connection with the CM server it acts as any other gateway but when the connection is gone it act somewhat like a IPO.
