I am trying to connected Paging horns to the IP Office. I have a Bogen Amp in place. The speakers are connected to the amp. I am also using an Anolog Port off the IPO connected to the amp as well. Everytime I try to Page from the IPO it will not go through. I just get a busy as soon as I hit the Page key on my phone. I know everything is hooked up correctly because I can take the connection from the anolog port on the IPO and plug it into another Phone system page port and it works right away.
The Analog extension is confuring as Paging Port. I am using a Dial Paging action to the analog extension. I also tried doing a group paging action to a Hunt group with the analog extension in that group. What am I missing?

Have you set the analogue extension as a paging port?

I actually have to have an analog phone off hook inline with my paging system in order to get it to work. Pretty much the same symptoms as you describe.

I seem to remeber reading that you need an analogue handset connected to the port and have it off hook while you power reboot the system, once it's back up you can use the port for paging :)

That is what our instructor said when setting up an analog station for paging.

That is the trick. Connect an analog telephone to the analog station port you are using and go off hook. Reboot the IP Office. Once it comes back up, you can now page.

Thought So, my memory does work :)

it would also work to connect the bogen amp before you reboot as the T/R input is a low impedance input and basically has the same effect on the port.
I used to carry a 600 Ohm resistor on a RJ45 connector and plugged that in for paging ports just in case the customer didn't want to reboot after going life any more and the paging was not connected.
