Hi,

I have an IP 500 v4.1 with Embedded VM.

I have a user who has 2 phones. (One in his office, and 1 at home.) I am trying to make it so that whether the user is either home or at the office, he gets the same experience.

I have set this up for the most part as far as call handling for incoming & outgoing calls. I am having a issue with the voicemail though. Is there anyway to have 1 mailbox shared by both users and have the message light work respectfully on both phones when someone leaves a message? I have been able to achive this via a Hunt group and assigning the 2 extensions to the huntgroup and removing the mailboxes from the extensions.

Is there anyway to do this on the extension level and not with the huntgroup hack?

The only way i know to get the lights to light is with a hunt group. Or you could use internal twining and that should work as well. makes them appear as the same extension. I do it with a desk phone and IP Dect phone. Both light when there is a message. you will need a twining license for this.

I thought about Hot Desking, but the end user cant even log into a computer, let alone trying to teach him how to log into a phone. I need to keep it simple for this guy, he's not the sharpest tool in the shed.

I might explore internal twinning. I dont think you need a license for internal tweening, only external/mobile tweening needs a license.

Here's a copy/paste from the manual, just looked it up:

Twinning Destination
--Internal - IP Office extensions only - License Required:No
--Mobile - External numbers only - License Required:Yes

Thanks for all the help.

How hard can it be :)

Make a shortcode for him

#extenxion number
extn login
N*logincode

Women and cats can do as they please and men and dogs should relax and get used to the idea!

Or just put a "Login" button on his phone that will dial the login code and ext for him. This way he just hits the button and puts in his password.
