Happy Friday. Is there a way to access another persons mailbox in IP office mode?

why dont you *36 and log into the other persons extension and check the vmail?

what if its a hunt group mail box? Using a 7000 series phone.

You'd have to use the short code for hunt group mailboxes from what I understand; not sure what yours is but you'd set one up as such:

*99 or what-have-you
Voicemail collect
"?HuntGroupName"

I hope this helps.

I believe in 9.1 they stopped letting you use a shortcode to go directly to a mailbox (even with the extension in the shortcode, it will still ask for the extension and password). Easiest way is to make a shortcode just like *17 but with no U in it. You need to have a voicemail password set to do this.

If your system is not 9.1 the above suggestion should work just fine.

Nonsens, what makes you believe that?

Shortcodes still work, even on R10, create a shortcode like this:
SC=*81XXX
TN = "#"N
Action=Voicemail Collect
LineID = 0

You need as much Xs as the length of the phonenumbers, in this example the length is three.

Each user must have a VM code set.
Dial *81399 to access the mailbox of user 399, enter the VM code and you'll get the message "You have" x or "no" "new messages"
If only one user needs access to a VM box of another user or group add "V399" in the user source number field that is for th user whom needs access to the VM box without a passcode.

I had a 9.1 system that I tried this and it still asked for an extension and password

Shortcode: *250
Feature: VoicemailCollect
Dial: "?250"

Maybe my issue was using the extension number instead of the huntgroup name?

Oh derp your right I bet I missed that on that previous system.

Yes, I forgot to mention.
A "#" is for leave a message(speak) and a "?" is to retrieve messages(listen)
