Hi,
Sorry for the seemingly simplicity of this question... but...

How do you set up Hold Music with IP Office 5?
I have an mp3 player plugged into the Audio jack on the back of the unit, but I am still not getting any music on hold (just the two beeps).

And, for internal hold... is it different? A .wav file goes somewhere?
Thanks for the help

Ok, thanks.
It doesn't seem to be working. I'll try playing around with it some more.

after enabling the "External Music On Hold" it's still not working? Did you save and reboot?

your mp3 player is using the headphone out port?

the port on the IPO is a mono headphone jack but i've used stereo jack (two stripes) and never had any issues. there's just not much to it. Any audio source that has "headphone" outputs will work with the IPO.

This would only apply if the unit is stuck in a cabinet and you cannot see the back. BUT the lead has not accidently been put in the relay port has it?

I thought this was supposed to be simple too!

I saved and rebooted
Headphone-out to Audio-in on the back of the IPO. (it's the one on the right when looking at it from the back)

When I try to put calls on hold, from internal and external, I still just get the generic *beep, beep* that IPO provides.
Thanks

what does the *34 shortcode give you? for internal MOH you put a wav file on the VM computer in the manager directory and when the IPO reboots it pulls that file unless the external MOH button is checked..
Just getting down to basics but have you checked that there is actually music on the MP3 player and that you can hear it using headphones connected to the MP3 player? headphone to audio cable the correct cable? that it is actually plugged into a headphone jack and not a microphone jack?

Yeah, I totally agree. It sounds like a case of "You sure it's plugged in?" but, it's solid.
I can listen to it fine with headphones and I've checked in at least 10 times to make sure I'm not making some bonehead move.

The *34 gives me the default beeps still.
I'll give the .wav file in the manager folder a try tomorrow.
I appreciate all the help for this silly question :p

here's another idea, try plugging a radio in and seeing if you can hear the radio via hold music, possibly the port on the ipo is broke.also have you tried rebooting the IPO? before the check box for external MOH was there I think if there wasn't anything coming through the audio in jack on boot it would disable the jack.

I have found to get the external port to work a reboot is not enough in V4. A full power cycle is required.
