I know that the IPO is less than perfect for a hosted PBX solution but has anyone here gone ahead and tried in anyways?

Oh, and the reason why the M5000 "P" phones are so popular? In the late 1980s, they were developed as digital replacements for 1A2 systems. Of course you could have multiple lines running to a desk with "one" line cord instead of an ampehnol connector....and unlike most 1980s PBXs with switch distance limitations, they could be placed in relatively remote locations miles away from the switch. I believe Avaya had their own version of Hosted Centrex phones. What were they? They worked on the ESS version of Centrex. Anyone remember?

The 91xx look the worst, they look like something from Nortels dusty "Let's sell the moulds" shelf :)

Oh I forgot, Nortel doesn't sit well with you, Amriddle! LOL.

Rightly so though, everything that could have gone wrong with a company, happened at Nortel at the end.

I may be an enthusiast, but I have moved on.....Avaya sets are probably the best looking on the market now.

Yeah, especially the newer T series sets, the ones that sound like tin cans on the receiving end?

I did like the features too. The older "Made in Canada" sets were far superior in quality to the newer "farmed out" sets.

M5000 are those Meridian Digital Centrex sets that are like tanks, but look just like the M2616, pretty dated now. They looked like an M2616 but had the feature set of an analog phone.

Quite funny, our Channel 7 ABC News affiliate has them here in Chicago and proudly shows them off on every newscast.
