Hello,

We have an IP Office 8.1 installation along with Voicemail Pro. Recently, our auto attendant and voicemail has stopped working entirely. After looking into it, the system status is showing the following error 'The following system resources are all in use: Voicemail Channels'. Under IP Office Manager (System > Voicemail), it's showing 0 unreserved channels. Is this normal? My first thought was this issue could be tied to licensing, but the licensing looks fine and shows valid.

Any thoughts? Thanks in advance for any assistance.

Thank you for the information, joe2938. Unfortunately, we don't have a UCM. There isn't a UCM listed in SSA. Thanks again.

ok just wanted to make sure, hopefully you have a back up so you worst case you may have to uninstall and reinstall voicemail pro again

any old dead licenses in it? when doing a key swap a while back i had to manually remove the old ones because it was acting up

The voicemail tab in SSA shows the following:

However, the Service tab shows the following:

I checked each license and they are all valid. Thanks for the tip, R3Lzx.

I pulled this snippet from SysMon if it's of any relevance:

It's been at least two days now and voicemail is still out of service, may be time to bring in some qualified help!

Look into IP Office voicemail tab under system and check if all your eight channels are reserved.

These settings allow the channels between the system and Voicemail Pro to be reserved for particular functions. Unreserved channels can be used for any function but reserved channels cannot be used for any function other than that indicated. These settings are not available unless the configuration includes validated licenses for the total number of voicemail channels.
Note that the voicemail server also restricts the maximum number of channels that can be used for some services that would be taken from the Unreserved Channels pool. Alarms and callbacks are each limited to up to 2 channels at any time. Outcalling and conference invites are each limited to up to 5 channels at any time.

Unreserved Channels: This setting cannot be changed and by default will show the total number of licensed voicemail channels. This number will decrease as channels are reserved for the following functions.

Mailbox Access: Default = 0 This setting sets the number of channels reserved for users accessing mailboxes to collect messages.

Auto-Attendant:: Default = 0 This setting sets the number of channels reserved for users directed to Voicemail Pro short code and module start points.

Voice Recording: Default = 0 This setting sets the number of channels reserved for voice recording other than mandatory voice recording (see below). If no channels are available recording does not occur though recording progress may be indicated.

Mandatory Voice Recording: Default = 0 This setting sets the number of channels reserved for mandatory voice recording. When no channels are available for a call set to mandatory recording, the call is barred and the caller hears busy tone.

Announcements: Default = 0 This setting sets the number of channels reserved for announcements. When no channels are available calls continue without announcements.

Personally, I would load VM Pro on a laptop, configure it as a replacement. If it works, time to reinstall the app server. If it doesn't, then you know it is the IPO, and can look for problems there.

Thank you, derfloh! I can't believe I missed it, but all 8 channels were tied to 'Mandatory Voice Recording' for some reason. After setting all reserved channels to 0, we are up and running. I hope this will help someone else in the future. Thanks for everyone's help with this.

Roddy, I do believe derfloh may deserve something thats pink and has 5 pointy things on it

wait a minute this thread started out as; Recently, our auto attendant and voicemail has stopped working entirely so what gives here, who made the change? sometimes the way you can word these type of issues can lead us down the wrong path but glad it's working, I also would give some pink to derfloh for spotting this issue.

I 'starred' derfloh. Thanks again!

As far as how it happened, I'm not sure. Only myself and one other person has access to the IP Office System. I'm thinking that it's very possible my mouse scroll wheel was hovering over the field when scrolling down and I inadvertently changed this setting. I've actually caught myself accidentally changing settings this way in the past. Just throwing that out there, but I do know this setting was never purposely changed. Thanks again to everyone for your time and attention.

So you've learned to check the available logs in case of trouble... ;-)

Check the audit trail and see when the change was made and by whom.

Ok, I just had the same.
I did not change the reservation and suddenly it had 4 challenge reserved for announcements.
I have tested a new module a dozen times before today.

BAZINGA!

I'm not insane, my mother had me tested!
