IP Office 500 voicemail box limit

I have ran into something that has me stumped. I look at system status and i hit the the voicemail tab and i see over 15 extensions with 254 voicemails and not 1 more. Is their a limit in voicemails in ip office 500??

what kind of voicemail? If you are using embedded/essential maybe you are at the storage limit. I know you can have 60,000 with VM Pro or atleast I did when there was that bug in R6.

Not sure, but those people clearly don't need a mailbox anyway

No but SSA will only show 254 even if there were 5000. That is the limitation SSA.

Why so much voicemail messages?
I can imaging one or two mailboxes for collecting a lot of them but all people so much messages is strange.
Answer the phone or remove it if you do not want to answer it.

I find 9/10 times when you see that the user is using voicemail to email in copy mode and then never bothers to check their messages on the phone itself. This causes a lot of overhead in nightly housekeeping though and I wouldn't suggest it.

When i have had users like this i would adjust the housekeeping to remove new messages after 30 days instead of keep forever..

I typically set it to a year but I agree that if users cannot manage their mailboxes on their own then we will implement a process to allow the system to do it for them.

For us it is set to 0 so not deleting at all but over here using voicemail is not that common.
But i have seen embedded voicemail stop working because the card was full

you know that doesnt sound like a bad idea. We need to implement a date when we clean out mailboxes. Our vm pro server gets so full we have to do daily backups to free up space.
