Have an IP Office 500 v2 Rls 9.0.0.829 and I would like to upgrade it to 9.0.4 (seeing posts on here about issues with 9.0.5). Will this require any licensing, or because we're staying on the same "release" it should be fine.

I am wanting to patch this system to get the new TLS feature in the SMTP setting. Its taken them forever to implement this feature!

Thoughts?

No license is needed for upgrades within a major release. The upgrade wizard will show you the available license and the required license for your upgrade.

The upgrade wizard will show you the available license and the required license for your upgrade

Not correct I'm afraid, the "Licensed" field shows what the system is currently licenced for, the "Required licence" field is what's required to run the release the system is currently on, not what's required to complete the upgrade....useless information in an upgrade wizard but nonetheless it's true :)

In the below screenshot you will see my system is licenced for R9, its running R9 but I have 9.1 available, yet the required licence field show the R9 licence is required....stupid :)

But OP, you are OK to upgrade I was just pointing out some Avaya silliness :)

I wonder how many got burnt on this silliness, murder-upgrading their system under the impression that it was good to go.
Should have been a feature like this: "The upgrade was terminated due to insufficient licensing"

But we all know that will never even make it over the doorsill at the GRIP-bunker.
Q: Estimate revenue on existing systems with this feature"
A: Zippo, nothing, nil.
Q: Estimate increased sales of new systems with this feature"
A: Nix, nada, null.
Q: Other comments?
A: It would be helpful to stressed out technicians in the field.
"Toilet flush"

Kind regards

Gunnar

I think it's a bug/mistake that they never fixed TBH. It clearly should be what's required to complete the upgrade.... if it isn't a bug/mistake they are as thick as two fridge doors,...end of story :)
