hey guys,

this is the first multi-site install i am working on and need some guidance please.

background:
site 1 has SIP trumks
site 2 has POTS

each location will have a box and they will be connected through site-to-site VPN so they are able to extension dial for 5 people.

goal:
on site 2, when dialing 911, the call has to go out the local POTS line, all other calls (when you press 9 or extension dial internally) go through the main office.
my thoughts on accomplishing this is by creating a short code for 911 but kind of unclear how to make that short code go out through local POTS.

TIA!

Your POTS trunks will be in a separate outgoing group. This group will be selected in the ARS tables on the 911 calls. That should take care of 911.

thanks for the quick reply dphoneguy24.

question, for site 2, they will have POTS lines which will show under "Lines(x)" in manager. would i have to manually set a specified line to a group number (ex. 444) under "outgoing group id" then under "ARS" in manager, edit the codes "11" and "911" and change their "line group id" to "444" ?

You need to give the ananlog trunk a unique outgoing line id.
Then on your ARS configure everything you need to configure for your 911 calling.
You can use one ARS if you like with everything you need to dial and only give 911 the other line id.

BAZINGA!

I'm not insane, my mother had me tested!
