IP office 500 v2 r7

Hi ya,

I'm just starting out playing with an IP OFFICE 500 V2 I bought off ebay.
This is for my own personal development.

I have 5420 DS with version 8.1 running on the system.

According to the threads on here - I need to downgrade to r7

Where can I download r7, I cannot download from avaya as i'm not a business partner etc and my unit was second hand.

The unit doesnt have any liences.

I would be very grateful for any guidance.

If the system is running R8.1, there should be at least an Essential edition licence or it would not be operational from memory...?

Are you able to open Manager on your computer or don't you have any software at all?

Happy to dropbox you the software for R8.1 and R7 if you need. Did you want to check the exact version of R8.1 you need?

Out of interest why do you need to downgrade?

5420 phones are supported up to R9.1 and seem to work OK on R11.

I think that if an R8.1 unit doesn't have a Essential licence it will work in basic mode which is best avoided.

I dont have any license at all

I bought the box off ebay as a learning project

The reason I want to downgrade is.. to get the 5420 phones running.

I would prefer a license to resolve this problem.
I know the box licensed. I have the number from the SD card, is there a way I can retrieve the license info. I do know it's not on the box.

I think there is a way to look up the licence details if you share the SD card number? The licences will only work with that particular card you have so no one can use them.

Once you get the Manager software you might be able to recover the licence from the SD card.

That is correct 54XX phones show "terminal barred" in basic mode and are unusable.

The truth is just an excuse for lack of imagination.
