Hi Guys,

I am new here and have tried what was stated on but it did not solve the problem I have.

I have PRI with 10 lines installed all in Idle state.

I need someone to help me with configuration steps that will enable some users use specific DID lines and their outgoing calls should also go on that DID while showing their specific DID numbers at the receiver's end.

Please it is urgent.

Thanks.

Shortcode

Code 0N
Function Dial
tem Nr NSxxxxxxxxxxxx (where xxxxxxxxxx is the outgoing DID)
Line ID 0

Hi Okkie26,

Thanks for the response but I couldn't get far with it.

I want it configured in the sense that no code will be required to do outgoing calls.. like using ? in the Short Codes...

What do you mean by "tem Nr NSxxxxxxxxxxxx

I mean Telephone number..

But then it is

Code: ?
Funcion: Dial
Tel Number: .Sxxxxxxxxxxxxx
Line ID: 0

But I advise to use a ARS code....

Hi Okkie26,

Thanks for the response. If you are advising me to use ARS, How should the configuration go?
Will the shortcode you stated be under ARS, PRI or User Short Codes?
I entered it under user shortcode because I want separate users to dial out using separate DID numbers and when I dial out, I get UNOBTAINABLE on the phone.

Do I need to set Incoming Call Route? I did that and its working OK.

Do I need to enter Prefix, National and International? They are set at null, 0, 00 as default.

The incoming and outgoing group is also set at 0, while we have other analog lines using other numbers.

Help needed.

Prefix, National and International should be 0, 00, 000

Then a user or system shortcode

0N
Dial
NS201234567 ( to send 0201234567) as clip
0

Hi Okkie26,

If it is set as you have said, If I need to dial a number 4605048, normally, I will have to add 01 to it as it is a local call. So it will be 014605048 and that will be sent as 0014605048 and it wont go.

After trying what you said, I am still getting UNOBTAINABLE.

On the PRI Line tab, it is set to incoming group 0 and outgoing group 0.

Note that the code is 0N and the tel nr is only N.. So the ARS 0 wont be sent to the line provider.

You have to dial 0 014605048

From the ShortCodes, Which should I state on ARS and which should I state on User and which should I state on the PRI itself?

On the PRI itself no shortcode.

As test only put the example I gave you on the system shortcode.

That way ARS is not used.

Thanks for your efforts so far.

I tried it that way and this time around, no UNOBTAINABLE error but just the dial and the number being dialed without connection.

Rgds

But I notice that if I should configure one of the 1608 phone button as line appearance for one of the numbers, it works.

Do you by accident have a shortcode on the user shortcode tab?

If so, remove that one

I just noticed that the PRI is fluctuating going in service and out of service. I have called the service provider and they said they will be here shortly to sort it out. After that, I will try what you suggested and I hope it works as I think it has been the reason it has not been working.

Thanks

I hope you are not offended. Please don't be offended.

I will update this post when the line becomes stable.

No I'm not.

Don't worry. Just want to wish you good luck whit the setup.

If help is needed just let me know..

Hello Okkie26,

Thanks. So far, I have been able to make calls showing the desired number using the follow config on user short code.

Code: ?
Funcion: Dial
Tel Number: .Sxxxxxxxxxxxxx
Line ID: 5

But the problem is this... We run a virtual office and want to assign one number to an office. But whenever the calls are made, it selects any available line from the available channels to make a call.

Assuming I have a line 014605511 in channel 4 and under the user short code, I set the tel number to .S014605511, it shows that at the receiving end but might actually be calling using 014605514 and not the 014605511. Is there a way to chain it to that particular channel as it is done on analog lines for accounting purposes?

Help!

DID/DDIs are not assigned to specific channels just the trunk, you also shouldn't try and account for calls on a per channel basis and no system I know of works like that plus it makes no sense, accounting should be done based on user and what number they dialled etc :)

Use the Short Code you were given but try changing the "Dial" to "Dial 3k1" instead.
