Hello all,

Do you Know if it's possible to install a release 5.0 on an IP Office 500v2? or it's necesary to upgrade to 6.0 or 7.0?

I know it can be on IP Office 500v1, but could I buy a 500v1 now?

Has somebody found a document about compatibility o something like that?

Thank you,

An IP500v2 is 6.0 and higher.

BAZINGA!

I'm not insane, my mother had me tested!

The v2 was launched at 6.0 as such 5.0 does not have the bin files required for the v2 chassis :)

OK, thank you. Then, I'll recomend upgrade the PBX to 7.0 :S. De una vez! jejeje

just out of curiosity, why did you want to downgrade it to rel 5?

how many users on the switch? if its less than 30 then a small site upgrade is rather inexpensive.

I don't want to downgrade, I wanted to change the hardware of an IP Office 412 5.0 whitout upgrade the software, it has more than 200 users :).

I think you still can order the IP500v1.
I never saw an End of sale announcement.

You can still buy 500 V1's from many places if you absolutely must stay on R5, but it wouldn't be wise as R5 is not supported anymore as people have said.

And buying the new V2 would allow you to run any 6+ release without a licence anyway :)

Yes, I think they have to upgrade the PBX to 7.0. If they change to IP 500 V1 now after they will have to change the hardware again soon.

The problem isn't the software but the licences of VoiceMailPro, Contac Center and others, I think this should be expensive. But you have to do it sometime :).

Why do you worry about those licenses?
They will still be there after the upgrade.

the only cost involved is the upgrade licence. no other licences need to be purchased unless you have 200 IP handsets ;-)

Rossana, all curent licences can be transferred they do not need buying again, how many IP phones do you have? :)

The PBX was an older versíon (not 5.0), it was upgrades to 5.0. So, I'm not sure about the licenses, because this PBX has licences for Agent CCC, supervisor CCC, Server CCC, VMPro, Phone Manager PRO, etc. And I think it will need the licences for Preferref Edition and Advanced edition, and Licenses for Teleworker and so on... because when they bought the PBX there wasn't these licenses. What do you think?

This IP Office has 220 IP Phones.

Thank you for the comments :)

VM Pro and all phone Manager licences will carry straight across no problem (Preferred is just VM Pro by another name, it is the exact same licence and identical part number).

CCC licences (including supervisor and agents) can be migrated using the following licence:

CCC to CCR Upgrade License: IPO LIC CUSTMR CUSTMR CALL REPORTER UPG LIC (217658)

So you are covered with those licences :).......but

Bad news is that you need endpoint licences for IP phones now and with 220 that is a really big cost, and I mean thousands :-(

Oh, I see! I didn't know that the Licences for IP Phones were new :(, now I really understand why upgrade to 5.0.

I dont' know about the VCMs, but I think they will need al least one of 64, because they have 3 PRIs :S.

You get 3 endpoint licences per channel when you fit tht old VCM card onto the card carrier in the new system, but it will still leave $ 000's worth of endpoint licencves to buy.....Avaya really screwed people over by changing from licenced VCM's to endpoints :)

Just buy an IP500v1 and be happy or invest some money and upgrade everything.

That would be 3 endpoint licences per licenced VCM channel not just per VCM card.

ACS - IP Telephony + IP Office
ACA - Too many to remember
ACSS - Would do it but i don't get a free TShirt anymore!
