Well this one has three of us techs scratching our heads.

Two locations, two exact IPOs with 5.0(26) connected by fiber to the same network.
Things were working fine calls could go in and out no problem.

All of a sudden..(after a suspected power outage) The system only allows "one" intercom ext to ext or outside line out at the 2nd location.
The main location is working and can call outbound. But can only call one ext at a time when calling an ext at the second.

We have the setup as follows

Main IPO lines: 17. On H323 IPO Office SCN in private, incoming Group ID 500
Outgoing 500 , 8 channels( licensed with IP500 voice network channels-all valid)

2nd location line 18 on H323 office SCN in private incoming group ID 0 and outgoing group I'd 500.

PRI 24

2nd is identical , except for no T-1PRI it is using the main IPO to gain outside line access.

The strange thing at the 2nd site is it works perfectly for one call only ( inbound or outbound) but if you place a second outbound from another phone( from the second site) it says waiting for line. I see the call in system manager on "alerting" status just waiting for the line. When the first call disconnects it connects and makes the call

On exts if you try and dial a second extension, it just gives a busy and display says un obtainable.

I know it's something between the IPOs but cannot figure out what changed.

Any insight would be very helpful,

Thanks in advance

Could a config corruption cause something like this? We have had two other techs looking at this config but they confirm it looks correct.

Monitor is your friend. Use it to see why additional calls are failing.

Seen similar when Cisco routers where involved, bypassed them to prove the point and then left them to fix it, never found out what it was though...sorry :)

Ok, so the strange can only be approached with an open mind. We discovered ( after having several techs looking at this odd issue) that we had a configuration just simply go bad.

So we saved a fresh configuration from both sides( both IP Office 500 units) we then cleared the 2nd site of all the configuration. It was set back to default ( not the firmware just cleared the configurations) after a restart I opened up the saved file offline then did a "send" to the IP Office. The 2nd unit reloaded, but did not have any effect on the one line out issue. However when we then did the same exact thing to the Main unit. As soon as the IP Office was up reloaded and online "boom" all 8 channels fired off calls with no issues.
Looks like a power outage or something tripped up the configurations.
Just a note, we power cycled these units beforehand over and over in different sequences to see if a simple reset would fix the issue but it was obviously deeper that that.
Hope this helps if you have a similar issue.
