I have a VPN setup between 2 netvanta 2054 routers. The VPN appears to be working fine i can access the file shares on our coporate office, emails, etc.

I got the phone setup added an IP Route to Manager and it apears it's connected. I can dial out on it but for some reason i have no dial tone, audio or anything on that phone.

I have no idea what it could be. I opened up ports 1719 and 1720 on both routers (TCP Protocol) to see if that was it and didn't fix it.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Check the IP Route on the IP Office.

Do you have different subnets behind each NetVanta?

I do yes.

Corporate Office 10.1.1.0

Remote Office 10.1.3.0

here is my ip route is setup

ip address: 10.1.3.0
subnet mask 255.255.255.0
gateway: 10.1.1.111 (which this is the gateway where the IPO unit is at (Corporate Office)

Destination: LAN1
Metric: 0
Proxy ARP (unchecked)

I would just set it to

0.0.0.0
0.0.0.0
10.1.1.111

Do you have traffic travelling out of more than one DG?

Should i not have a ip route setup for the Corporate office subnet?

IP ROute
IP Address: 10.1.1.0
subnet mask: 255.255.255.0
gateway: 10.1.1.111
Destination: LAN1

No need. Just set a route like I have outlined so that any traffic going to any other subnets needs to travel out the DG, which is 10.1.1.111.

should there be a remote manager ip address in there?

its like a 192.168.1.0 subnet

and its destination is RemoteManager

?

well i put it in and it didn't seem to do anything. still no audio or dial tone from the phone.........

I even did a "when free" reboot just to make sure it took the config.

Turn of direct media path for that extension and see what happens.
If it works then it is a routing problem.

Homo sapiens non urinat in ventum

honey, i fried the IP Office !!!

Sarcasm, it's only one of the services I offer.

I can think of two things here that can be the problem.

1. somehow a firewall/router is blocking necessary ports (don't know which should be open, but on other platforms i encountered this many times).

2. Do you have (licensed) vcm channels available?

how do I turn off direct media path?

Silverblade,
Which ports could I missing do you know?

How do I know If I have enough VCM channels available.

should i be merging the configs or doing a restart everytime.

i turned off Direct media path and still a no go.

do you have any other IP phones?

one other one but this is in our corporate office not at our remote office

You need to call a Business Partner to purchase VCM licenses and to help you with programming.
