Hello,

New to the forums here. I just got an ip Office 406 and was trying to configure it up. I went into the config and it pulls up fine. I started making changes that I knew needed to be done. Now for the issue before going to far into changing things I was trying to do save. Every time I try to save anything in the left hand corner of the manger I get an error saying “Failed to send config". I am Farley new to this. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Are you using the correct password ?

Maybe try deleting bootp record and logging onto system again

Still not working. The default password is nothing. Don’t have to type anything in for it. I tried deleting the BOOTP record and it still didn’t work. I have to be doing something wrong or maybe I set it up wrong. Just don’t know what it is.

the default password isn't blank: it's "password" (without quotes and case sensitive). The system password couldn't be blank but at least 4 characters.

Its a quirk of Manager that if the password is at the default setting of "password", it will let you load the config without entering the password

However the password is still there and if not entered when gewtting the config, it is requested on the Save - but in another quirk the Save doesn't prompt you that you failed to enter the password before clicking OK despite it being aware enough to display an entry box for the password.

Thank you very much for your help. It worked by typing in password for the password. I’m sure I will be posting more help messages. Thanks again

Ok so the next problem. How to you get a 5420d phone to work with ip Office. I thought the ip office it self carried a dial tone so you can dial from extension to extension. Do I need to configure something? I no very little about these systems.

Plug it into a DS port. Setup a user on that extension

Sounds like you should have a little read through the docs on the avaya website.
