Ok so the next problem. How to you get a 5420d phone to work with ip Office. I thought the ip office it self carried a dial tone so you can dial from extension to extension. Do I need to configure something? I no very little about these systems.

It,s only supported from version 3.0 what softwareversion are you running.
And it must connected in a DS port, not a DT or Pot.

I look at the help in manager and it said Verison 5.0 (40). Is that the right place to look. I thought when i installed the software it was 3.0

You did, its one of the most silly features of IP Office that the core software run by the system is numbered two releases behind the Manager program used to configure it. So Manager 5.x is used to configure IP Office core software 3.x.

Using Manager, load your systems config and click on Unit in the left-hand panel. That will show you details of the units in your system and the version of core software that each of those units is running.

I upgraded the control unit to version 3.0 (44) and now the phones are working fine. Thanks for the help
