Hi We have an IP Office 406 with a PRI 30.

1. When a speed dial is used, the number is dialled and rings out for around 15 seconds then the call is dropped and redialled again, this occurs for about 5 times until (by chance) the call at the other end is answered and the person receiving the call states that the phone has rung and hung up around 5 times, whereas the IP office based caller only hears the phone ringing out without dropping. The only reason I noticed that it rings for 15 secs is by looking at the call in call status.

Any Ideas?

2. We have a second office with a fixed range of external IP addresses, I am looking to install a phone and fax and use as part of the main office system, by calling either way using the extension number, although I am not sure on how to set this up.

3. When opening the manager screen the about info shows garbled, almost like russian or something weird.

Running 3.1 (48) with 2 x 16 way analogu pots all analogue phones and 1 x 8 way ISDN box with nothing currently connected.

Many thanks.

first off all upgrade it to at least 3.1.65
3.1.48 is not that good

2. you need an ip phone and a vcm card in the 406
with faxing over ip i have no experience

3. the russian is probably because you take over a pc or something
then nothing to worry about
that is a known issue

Hi TLpeter.

Thanks for that:
1. I thought that we were unable to upgrade any further than that of the current version, if I upgrade will that cure the problem do you think. What other fixes are in the upgrade any ideas?
2. Will hunt around.
3. Seems very strange.

the remote site is going to have to have it's own IP office if it is going to be serving up analog stations such as a fax.

to that thought...

does anyone know if there is a way to get the One-X Quick Edition ATA's to work with the IP office as an IP extension for use on faxes, etc? If so, would they require the extra IP device license for non-standard IP devices?

Just a thought...would be nice to be able to hang off an analog device at a remote site without having to have to buy a control unit.
