Good Morning

After updating our IP OFFice 500v2 to firmware ver 8.1(52), among other problems we are encountering an issue on a 1416 digital phone (brand new).

The file server is set as the Memory card and the phone is connected to digital 8 card. (same issues on combi card)

When it is first connected it says:

NO APPLICATION FIRMWARE
WAITING FOR FIRMWARE DOWNLOAD
SYSTEM NOT RESPONDING
WAITING 00:00
(incrementing counter)

The following logs are shown on the sysmonitor

580523782mS CMExtnEvt: 511 UpgradeServer: Fw Param Resp: TYPE=0x67 HW-vin=01, FW-vint=00, AppType=0x00 UpgradeState=0x00

580523783mS CMExtnEvt: New UpgradeFileReader(f4fcd6d4:9)(0x67:1400Boot25.bin)

at about 5 seconds on the incrementing counter the screen shows:

FW UPDATE IN PROGRESS
DOWNLOADING XXXKB 00:00

and the cunter starts incrementing with the following logs on the sysmonitor:

580533782mS PRN: UpgradeEngine(f4fcd6d4:9)::Start FileSysReader file=1400Boot25.bin

Along the way of the upgrade, percentages of the upgrade are shown on the monitor.

After approx 5 minutes (at 77kb) the following screen appears:

NO APPLICATION FIRMWARE

with the following log:

Can anyone help please?

Thanks and regards

Did you upload the latest phone firmware files to the memory card?

How many 16xx are currently connected to the box?

Try to point your file server to your Manager, it seems that upgrade is in progress but along the way it was cut (network choked/lag).

I would recreate the SD card to ensure that the file is good

You might want to do an MD5 checksum on the file and compare it to your file in Manager.

I have had a brand new 1416 out of a batch of 50 which will not upload firmware at all - it got to approx 75MB and then failed. It didn't attempt to start again unless you pulled the plug and plugged it back in again. Had it replaced under warranty.

Kind regards,

Jamie

What we usually do with this is, we downgrade or upgrade one more revision (if available), more often it worked.

and the cunter starts incrementing"-gold

Sounds like she's using a demo kit though.

Delete the file 1400Boot25.bin on the memory card. Find the file 1400Boot25.bin in your manager 10.0.52 and throw it back in.
Failing that, like Westi says, recreate the SD card.

I friggin' dream about Avaya.

issue solved - firmwares where in the wrong directory and even the phone was faulty - thanks everyone
