I know an ip link between 2 ip offices is only supported if its within 1 major software release but we have an old 403 ver 2.0 with dt modules linking to an ip500 ver 4.2 is this the only reason i cannot get it to work, we have vcm cards in both systems and the ip 500 is licensed for voice networking.
any advice appreciated

this is a pretty loaded question really.

can you advise a bit more about your network etc?

we have IP 500's with H323 trunks connected to Indexes, so you should be ok on the version front.

Software Level Interoperation
SCN is supported between IP Office systems with the same major software level or one level of difference in major software level. For example between 3.2 and 3.1 (same major level) and between 4.0 and 3.2 (one level of difference).

This option is intended mainly to allow the phased upgrading of sites within a Small Community Network. It is still recommended that all systems within a network are upgraded to the same level where possible. Within a SCN using differing levels of software, network features will be based on the lowest level of software within the network.

SCN is not the same thing as an IP link though.
As you ask about an IP link, you should get away with virtually any software combination. I'd suggest that you have something wrong in your programming or routing

Take Care

Matt
I have always wished that my computer would be as easy to use as my telephone.
My wish has come true. I no longer know how to use my telephone.
