Question: Can the serial port on an IP500v1 be used to retrieve SMDR information?

Details:

Currently, I have the SMDR record output (via IP/Port) to a Linux server that records the data on the chance that someone needs a previous call looked up. (This doesn't happen very often, and has worked well thus far.)

We are changing the CRM (Customer Relations Management) platform that we are using. Looking over some of the documentation for this CRM platform, I saw that they have the means to take SMDR information and incorporate into the CRM. However, they seem to be fixated on having a serial connection into our IP 500v1 box.

The documentation that I have available to me: these fora, other sites, and the installation instructions from Avaya; all indicate that the serial "DTE" port can be used to reprogram the IP 500v1 box. No mention, that I can find, of this port being used for any other purpose.

No,
This was only possible with Delta server but that does not work anymore on 6.0

You need to use a port to collect the SMDR
