What would be the type of license for R9.1 that we need to test IP 500 V2 units, regardless of licensing history. The license will only be installed for testing purposes and then removed.

I believe some units will not license correctly if previously licensed with another SD Card and license.

Would it be a full/upgrade or trial?

There arent any license options for testing. Requesting trials is a ball ache.

You used to be able to by NFR licenses / dongles but not any more. Too many resellers took the piss.

I would recommend simply purchasing a handful of key licenses and keep them in house for lab kit / testing etc.

If you flatten an IPO and install the relevant SD card and apply the relevant licenses to the unit, then you should be fine.

indeed you need a in house SD Card with all the licences you are likely to require & keep adding a new upgrade license every-time a new major release becomes available.

In the past Avaya would give partners licenses for a demonstration system to help them sell, but now Avaya don't seem to care much about their so called partners

Do things on the cheap & it will cost you dear

have a look on ebay. there are loads of old dongles, smart cards from older systems full of licenses you can transfer for in house stuff.

I take it by flattening it you mean via the serial link and using at-x2, at-x3, at-x to remove the config and firmware?

We tried this on our in house V2 @ 9.1. A full licence (Not upgrade) did not work on flattened second user IP500v2's. Reported licenced 8.1 error and similar. Only a brand new one out the box was able to be licensed at 9.1.

If we got a v9.1 upgrade licence instead, I take it we would also need a valid 8.1 license for it to work?
